Adelaide Boston of Alexander was awarded a $500 Youth to Washington Scholarship at the A-C Central High School Awards Night Wednesday, May 1.
Storie Wilson of Havana was awarded a $500 Youth to Washington Scholarship at Midwest Central High School’s Awards Night Wednesday, May 8.
Anne Fulgenzi of Sherman was awarded a $1,000 Youth to Washington Scholarship at the Williamsville High School Awards Night on Thursday, May 16. Anne was also chosen as this year’s co-op ambassador on the Youth to Washington Tour, an all-expenses paid tour of Washington D.C.
General Manager Alisha Anker has presented the 2019 Youth to Washington Scholarships to recipients at local school awards nights.
This is the second year for the scholarship program, which included awarding three scholarships and one trip on the Youth to Washington Tour. Scholarships were open to seniors whose parent/legal guardian is an active member of the cooperative.
One of Menard Electric’s core values is Commitment to Community and scholarship criteria emphasized community volunteer work and why service in the local community is important; additional criteria included academic achievements and school activities.
Scholarships were judged by a panel of impartial individuals chosen from within the electric cooperative industry but without direct ties to Menard Electric.
