Menard Electric Cooperative and CoBank recently presented donations as part of CoBank’s Sharing Success Program. Menard Electric is a member of CoBank, a cooperative lending facility, who matched this year’s donations from Menard Electric Cooperative of $4,750 to charitable organizations chosen by the co-op’s Board of Directors.
“Menard Electric is excited to be able to partner with CoBank again this year to assist Menard County Trails & Greenways and the Petersburg Elementary PTO that together provide a variety of benefits to the children and members of our local community.” says Menard Electric General Manager Alisha Anker.
Menard County Trails & Greenways received a total $2,000 to rehab the Council Circle plantings at the current Wayside site, an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Right-of-Way located at the intersection of Rt 97 and Rt 123, into a Monarch Waystation that will include new plants and educational resources concerning vital plant pollinators.
The Petersburg Elementary PTO received a total $7,500 to be used toward replacing playground equipment for the nearly 350 students attending the school each year, as well as local families who visit the playground.
