Menard Electric Cooperative Hires New General Manager
PETERSBURG—The Board of Directors of Menard Electric Cooperative in Petersburg announces that, after a nationwide search, it has selected Alisha D. Anker of Springfield, Ill. as General Manager. She will fill the vacancy of Eric Hobbie, former General Manager. Lynn Frasco has been serving as Interim General Manager since the first of the year when Hobbie transitioned to Prairie Power, Inc. as CEO.
Menard Electric Board President Jay Frye says, “The Board’s decision is the culmination of a comprehensive search and interview process to find the best leader to benefit members, our talented staff and the overall interests of the cooperative. Alisha Anker has a strong background in the electric power industry and proven project management and leadership skills. We welcome her to Menard Electric.”
Anker will begin her service on or before April 1st. She comes from Prairie Power Inc. (PPI), an electric generation and transmission cooperative in Springfield, where she began in 2009 and currently serves as Vice President of Regulatory and Market Affairs. She is highly engaged in energy market roles, regulatory matters, hedging the Prairie Power energy and capacity portfolio, and is currently overseeing a new generation capacity construction project.
Anker now serves on the Management Committee of the Prairie State Generating Company, the SERC Board, and the ACES Board of Directors.
She began her career in the electric utility industry in 1990 at City, Water, Light and Power after her studies in Electric/Computer Engineering at University of Illinois. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management in 2014 and is currently working on her MBA.
Anker currently lives in Springfield and will be relocating to the Menard Electric service territory. “I am delighted to become a part of the Menard Electric family,” she says. “I am excited about transitioning from Prairie Power, Inc. to Menard Electric Cooperative and look forward to working with the co-op’s Board of Directors and talented staff to move the cooperative forward.”
